Deal or No Deal?
So, whats the deal with the whole bird flu thing??? is it something we should really be thinking about and preparing for?
I thought: "no-- people just like to worry about silly little things."
but then of course, oprah had a segment about it. She was talking with some Infectious Disease Specialist guy. And he said that this strand of flu is extrememly similar to the 1918 flu pandemic.
So, of course, if oprah says it, it must be true. So, as soon as my precious little daughter wakes up from her nap, we're off to the grocery store to buy lots of bottled water and canned foods.
Question for you:
-Are you worried about the bird flu?
-Is it something that we need to all prepare for?

I don't think 'worried' is the right word for me...but it does seem to be in front of me alot...the whole of a pandemic.....I don't know keep thinking if anything takes my focus off of Him then I'm in trouble...so I think about it without obsessing about it or worrying about it....
So, i didnt actually go to the store yet. I got sidetracked. Had to go to Babies 'R Us for a gift for a friend.
but, I WILL get grocery shopping soon. Definitely before 06/06/06 [yes, i'm a bit paranoid.]
Why the bottled water and canned food? I don't understand.
I'm not worried about it. My SIL lives in Indonesia, an Asian country where chickens fly around. She says you just have to wash wash wash if you accidentally touch feces, but that it doesn't transmit through eating chicken or eggs.
canned food and bottled water-- b/c if a pandemic does break out, its best for you to stay in your house and not go out. So its best to have lots of food stored up. And the water b/c public water supply can get infected also.
And my shopping is now all done. My husband called me crazy. Ah well.
