You Gotta Be Kidding Me!

It's funny, yet sad, how there are so many... what's the word I'm looking for? Hmmm... Hypocritical? That'll do... Ok now-

It's funny how there are so many hypocritical teachers out there. You look at them and think, "What the heck?! You gotta be kidding me! How can they possibly teach me this when they don't even know it?!"

For example, just about every gym teach I've had growing up has been a fat old person. If they had to run the mile that they made us run, they'd probably die of a heart attack! How dare they tell me I'm too slow cuz I can't run a mile in 5 minutes!

So share with me... with us all... What kind of hypocritical teachers have you had growing up?

I sure hope I'm not one of them! Let's see... I know my ABC's and I can count to 100. I think I'm good! (Kindergarten is SO easy!)

hmmm... i'm trying to think... think, think, think...

i agree with you about the gym teachers! but, there was that guy in middle school-- what was his name? he was kinda in shape, wasnt he? but the lady wasnt! haha! i dont think she could even "speed walk."

does this count as hypocritical... i had a english prof in college, when i was in SC. he was a stickler for getting things in on time. seriously. he docked major points if you were late handing things in. (i, of course, never turned things in late. i was a nerd.) WELL-- the bum never gave us anything back. and since this class was primarily writing essays, i had NO IDEA if i was writing the way that he wanted me to. (cuz every english teacher has different ideas as to what is the "right" way to write.)

i kept saying: can you hand that back? can you hand that back? and he never did. so, i went to the Dean of Academics to complain. Not sure it did any good, but i felt better afterwards.

Yeah, i had no clue what my grade was gonna be. end of the semester came-- and still i had nothing returned to me.

do parents count? They teach... Mine taught things like not lying, hitting, etc, but didn't ever follow their own rules. :(

I think that counts....

Kindergarten must be fun -- I tried helping out in a class once but I just found their cuteness overwhelming and couldn't think of actually "teaching" them. Of course we weren't allowed to hug them which was hard because when I see those chubby cheeks I want to hug not practise ABCs .. Which is why I'm going to teach high school. I'd never want to hug them.. Eww. Lol.

Most of my gym teachers have been in shape. In too much shape if that's possible. I think overall I've had really good teachers so I can't really complain about that. I CAN complain about some people I know going into teaching because they think it's "easy." I can't stand when people say that!

I had a chem teacher way back in HS....who hadn't a clue what she was teaching.
She used to get tutored by another chem teacher during the evenings.

....and they expected us to learn from someone who didn't even know the subject????!!
