Ignorance is bliss?
You know how someone will do something, and you think, "How ignorant!" which is sort of an insult towards the person. Sort of like, when someone curses a lot, I think, "This person is so ignorant he can't even think of intelligent words to use."
Or like the other day when I was listening to the radio. The talk show guys were making jokes about Hurricane Katrina and the people that died. And I was appalled. How ignorant!
Now, the question is NOT list situations of ignorant people. The question is:
What are some things that you see that makes you think, "That person is intelligent, NOT ignorant." ? For instance, when a person can find a way to use non-curse words to explain their feelings- that impresses me!
So, what makes a person non-ignorant?

Non-ignorant? hmmm- how about if they disagree with something, they can share their opinion w/out making mean comments.
A person who admits when he's wrong... that's a very great quality.
When a person walks what they talk. That shows they "get it" and don't just like to hear themselves talk.
when a person sees things from another persons perspective and can admit when they fall short.
or when they can explain a subject extensively so it's obvious they've done their homework.
i think that generally having KNOWLEDGE makes someone non-ignorant. in the truest sense of the word, ignorant is someone who doesnt know/understand. i know someone (ok, you didnt want us to share IGNORANT stories) who grew up small town, never left, and has basically no knowledge of the world around. so, prejudices/stereotypes are easy to make.
someone who is knowledgable wont make those mistakes.
basically, yeah, thats my point. non-ignorant people dont make silly stereotypes or ignorant prejudiced judgements.
Hmmm... Let me see if I can guess who you're talking about Becky... Hehehe! Is it a particular female? I won't mention names since you didn't! (unless I'm completely off base)
See ya tomorrow, Becky!
